Hello All,
I want to do a special Love shout-out, particularly to the women I know. To those who have taken the courage to start their own project, hobby or business whilst living away from home.
Many of us women arrived in Switzerland as trailing spouses, branded by the local government as 'housewives', as we were looking after our young children. Whilst there's nothing wrong with that, what the local offices never asked us trailing women is 'What we were qualified to do before arriving at our new destination?'
Can you imagine how many highly skilled women were 'downgraded' to just house-wives, the task we were already doing over and above our regular full time jobs in the countries we had come from? Women whose skillset and qualifications range from Degrees, post graduate, PhD's and Masters, their professions being lawyers, accountants, analysts, bankers, teachers, artists and so much more.
This is why I love sharing and supporting other small businesses created by Women in Switzerland. Because creating and starting something from scratch takes guts, determination, a lot of personal time, especially in a foreign language and Country. To show my support, I always try to buy something either for ourselves or as gifts for others, as well as recommending small businesses to others, whilst promoting and sharing their passion. I do this out of Love, as I know how hard it is to commence a business from nothing. To all of you who have embarked on this kind of journey, this is a huge salute to you!!
